Laser Hair Removal Aftercare

So, you made it through your laser session, what is next?

Congratulations on taking the leap into the world of laser hair removal with a diode laser! Silky smooth days are on

the horizon, but hold your horses, because aftercare is the secret sauce to ensure your skin stays as radiant as ever.

Here’s a simple guide to the do’s and don’ts post-diode laser hair removal:

The Do’s:

1. Stay Sun-Savvy:

Do wear SPF like it’s your skincare superhero. Sun exposure can be a bit harsh on your freshly treated skin,

so shield yourself with sunscreen, hats, or shades.

2. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate:

Do keep your skin hydrated. Moisturize regularly to soothe any redness or dryness. Aloe vera gel can be your

go-to buddy for that extra cool-down effect. Available from your nearest Laser Away clinic, pop it in the fridge for an

extra bit of cooling, soothing action.

3. Gentle Cleansing:

Do clean the treated area gently. Opt for mild, fragrance-free cleansers to avoid irritating your skin. No

scrubbing or rubbing while your skin is still on the road to recovery, light scabbing is normal and should be allowed

to naturally heal and slough off.

4. Loose Clothing is Your Friend:

Do wear loose-fitting clothes for a few days. Your skin needs some breathing space, and tight clothing might

rub the wrong way.

5. Be Patient:

Do give it time. Results won’t happen overnight. Patience is key, and soon you’ll be flaunting your silky-

smooth skin. The follicles will release dead hair within 10-14days.

The Don’ts:

1. Hands Off:

Don’t touch! Resist the urge to poke or prod at the treated area. Your skin is healing, and unnecessary

touching can lead to irritation and infection. Your skin barrier has been put under pressure! Easy does it.

2. Say No to Hot Stuff:

Don’t indulge in hot showers, saunas, or steam rooms for a couple of days. Your skin needs a little cool-off

time, so keep things lukewarm.

4. Nix the Gym for a Bit:

Don’t hit the gym or engage in strenuous activities right away. Give your skin some downtime before you

break a sweat. A day or two should do the trick.

5. Say Goodbye to Tanning:

Don’t expose your treated skin to direct sunlight or artificial tanning beds. Tanning directly affects your laser

process.

Remember, everyone’s skin reacts differently, so it’s crucial to pay attention to what yours is telling you. If you have

any concerns or questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to your laser specialist.
